Choosing indoor Led Grow Lights

How do you pick out decent indoor led grow lights from the bunch?

There are more than a few quality grades between led grow lights and their manufacturers, so you need to pay attention to the subtle differences that they contain. If your going to look for a decent recommendation out of us, then there are two basic things you need to look at; where the indoor led grow light is made, and what kind of LED’s do they contain.

A Chinese or Asian made light is not going to hold the same kind of quality a USA made one does, and a indoor led grow light with cheap LED’s are not going to perform as well as you would expect. Stick with good quality CREE based led grow lights if you can, and don’t settle for anything less.

The first thing that comes to people’s minds when they are comparing led grow lights is their plant yielding potential. Whatever it takes to get the best yield is what most people are going to strive for. The price of the led lights is really not an issue if the more expensive unit produces much more than its competing units. What is ironic though is that the most expensive led grow lights are not always the ones that produce the most yield per watt.

A good quality led grow light system if efficient will produce very little heat. For someone growing a crop in a small room and has little access to a decent ventilation system, led grow lights can be a god send. Many growers when using HID and run into heating issues make the switch over to LED in a pinch. If your doing a crop in the middle of the summer, especially in an attic, you might want to purchase the LED grow lights ahead of time before you even get started.

The price you have to pay for a decent led grow light system may not be as cheap as a HID system or a cheap Chinese grow light system, but you get what you pay for.

If you are short on cash, then I suggest you hold off on your led grow light purchase until you can afford something decent. A cheap indoor led grow light system will leave you frustrated and pissed at the end of your crop cycle. If you have the money for a good quality led grow light system, and your just holding off because of the large upfront cost, then bite the bullet as you will save $$$ on electricity anyway due to it’s efficiency level.
